Bradley Beal appears to have found new life with the Los Angeles Clippers after signing a two-year deal this summer, following a disappointing stint with the Phoenix Suns that ended in a buyout.
Speaking earlier this week, the veteran guard said his transition to Los Angeles has been surprisingly smooth.
“It’s weird. It feels like I’ve been here for a few years; I feel that comfortable with the group,” Beal told The Orange County Register’s Janis Carr. “They welcomed me in that way too and just made me feel at home, and it’s been great, man.”
The three-time All-Star joined a Clippers team looking to rebound from recent playoff struggles and add depth around Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden.
Despite the team’s lopsided opening-night loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, the player expressed optimism about the chemistry and direction of his new squad.
Beal and the Clippers will host his former team, the Phoenix Suns, on Friday in their home opener – a quick reunion that adds an emotional edge to the matchup.
The 32-year-old guard, however, remains on a minutes restriction as he works his way back from offseason arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, according to The Athletic’s Law Murray.
