Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade recorded a 90–72 EuroLeague home victory over Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, moving to 4–2 under new head coach Sasa Obradovic.
The hosts opened the game strongly, racing to a 10–4 lead, but Baskonia responded to hold a 43–40 halftime advantage. Zvezda flipped the script in the third quarter with a decisive 17–2 run that turned a three-point deficit into a 64–52 lead.
Codi Miller-McIntyre led the team with 20 points, while ex-Baskonia forward Chima Moneke contributed 12 points and eight rebounds. Jordan Nwora added nine points and seven boards, anchoring Zvezda’s defense and keeping Baskonia to just 29 second-half points.
Obradovic, returning for a second spell at his boyhood club, now has three consecutive EuroLeague wins. He emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes while celebrating the fourth victory after an 0–2 start.
Zvezda’s defense forced turnovers and disrupted Baskonia’s rhythm, limiting Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, and others from making consistent contributions. Baskonia remains winless in the EuroLeague, falling to 0–6.
The win continues Zvezda’s dominance over Baskonia, extending their head-to-head record to 11–10, including three consecutive victories. The Serbian side will look to build on this momentum when they host ASVEL in Round 7.
Baskonia will aim to end their losing streak at home against Dubai Basketball, seeking their first EuroLeague win of the season.
