RJ Barrett scored 25 points and Brandon Ingram added 16 points and nine rebounds in his Toronto debut as the Raptors rolled past the Atlanta Hawks 138-118 on Wednesday night at State Farm Arena.

Scottie Barnes contributed 22 points and nine assists, while Gradey Dick scored 19 off the bench, helping Toronto set a franchise record for points on opening night. The Raptors shot 57% from the field, including 69% on two-pointers, converting fast-break opportunities into easy buckets.

Ingram, who missed the final 56 games last season with an ankle injury and never played for Toronto after being traded midseason, made an immediate impact, going 7-of-16 from the floor with three assists and two steals.

Atlanta’s Jalen Johnson scored 22 points with eight assists and seven rebounds, assuming a larger playmaking role this season. Trae Young finished with 22 points but struggled from deep, hitting just one of seven three-point attempts under heavy defensive pressure from Toronto’s guards.

Toronto extended a nine-point third-quarter lead with a 14-0 spurt, led by five points from Dick, effectively putting the game out of reach. The Raptors maintained a 20-plus lead throughout the fourth quarter, showcasing offensive depth and efficiency.

Kristaps Porzingis, making his Hawks debut after a trade from Boston, tallied 20 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Onyeka Okongwu and Dyson Daniels provided support, but Atlanta could not match Toronto’s pace or defensive intensity.

Barnes orchestrated the offense, combining scoring and playmaking to keep the Hawks off balance. Barrett and Ingram’s inside-out play complemented Dick’s perimeter shooting, giving the Raptors a balanced attack.

Toronto outrebounded Atlanta 54-34 and forced multiple turnovers, capitalizing on transition opportunities. The Hawks shot 42.2% overall and 28.6% from three-point range, struggling to contain the Raptors’ multi-pronged offensive approach.
