According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, there’s optimism in Phoenix that center Mark Williams will be ready for opening night despite not appearing in any preseason games.

Gambadoro reports on Twitter that Williams has already been taking part in full 5-on-5 sessions and is expected to get a few more scrimmage opportunities ahead of the Suns’ season opener next Wednesday.

Gambadoro also mentioned in a separate tweet that he doesn’t anticipate Jalen Green, who is dealing with a hamstring issue, to miss more than two or three games to start the season, unless he suffers another setback in the recovery process.

Mark Williams has played 3 seasons for the Hornets. He has averaged 12.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in 106 regular-season games.
