The Milwaukee Bucks have waived forward Chris Livingston, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. The decision comes just days before finalizing the team’s 15-man roster for the upcoming 2025–26 season.
Livingston, the last pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, had re-signed with Milwaukee in July on a fully guaranteed one-year, $2.3 million deal following an impressive Summer League performance. His preseason stint, however, wasn’t enough to secure a roster spot as the Bucks face a roster crunch entering the new campaign.
In limited preseason action, the 22-year-old appeared in two games, averaging 8.5 points in under 10 minutes per contest. He shot 4-of-5 from the field and converted 9-of-10 from the free-throw line across those outings.
Livingston’s path in Milwaukee has been marked by persistence. Drafted 58th overall out of Kentucky in 2023, he spent his first two seasons developing within the Bucks’ system. Over that span, he appeared in 42 regular-season games, averaging 1.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in just under five minutes per contest.
His standout showing at the 2025 Summer League reignited optimism about his long-term potential. Livingston averaged 20 points, 5.3 rebounds, and shot 50% from the field while hitting 37.5% from three-point range during the July showcase, which initially earned him his latest deal.
Now a free agent, Livingston will be eligible to sign with another NBA team or pursue opportunities in the G League or overseas.
