The Sacramento Kings have exercised the third-year option on guard Devin Carter, NBA insider Michael Scotto reported. Carter was the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and appeared in 36 games during his rookie season.

Carter signed with the Kings on July 9, 2024, and spent parts of the season with the G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, to gain additional playing time and experience.

During his rookie season, Carter averaged 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 11.0 minutes per game for Sacramento. He did not start any games but contributed as a reliable rotational guard off the bench.

In the G League, Carter showed significant scoring ability. Across five games with Stockton, he averaged 26.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per contest while shooting 51.7% from the field and 38% from three-point range.

The Kings now secure Carter under contract through the 2026–27 season, giving the organization time to further evaluate his fit within the team’s rotation. The young guard remains a key part of Sacramento’s long-term plans.
