Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic has dropped 25 points, seven boards, and four assists in just 22 minutes, but not enough to beat the Phoenix Suns in their second matchup during the preseason.
After falling short, the Lakers aim to focus on the following games, as the preseason is a time for experimentation and forming chemistry among the players.
Doncic opened up about his thoughts on playing against his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, tonight at T-Mobile Arena.
“I mean, it’s obviously going to be something,” Doncic said, per Dave McMenamin. “Obviously I’m going to feel something every game I play against them. I am kind of starting a new chapter here but it’s always going to be something.”
Meanwhile, the Lakers’ newcomer Deandre Ayton is slowly getting into his rhythm with the team as Doncic tries to build chemistry by throwing their first lob.
Deandre Ayton describes connecting with Luka Doncic on their first lob together: “I have to be patient and just really reading his eyes … but rolling fast at the same time, putting pressure on that big.” He marveled at some of the passes Luka made.
Although it was just preseason games, they were perfect for teams to make adjustments after a revamped lineup this offseason.
The Los Angeles Lakers look forward to securing their second win of the preseason as they face the Dallas Mavericks, marking a reunion moment with their former superstar, Anthony Davis.
