Toronto Raptors guard Gradey Dick drew attention from Patrick Beverley, who weighed in on the player’s name and skills. In a recent interview with Rone on The Pat Bev Podcast, Beverley commented, “His last name was Dick. Patrick Dick. Patrick Dick Beverley. Hell of a name. Not rollin’.”

Beverley added, “They literally put his name to somebody else’s name and made it a meme. I’m not rollin’. He can shoot though. He can shoot it. Is he better than Luke Kennard though? No… Not riding with Dick, no.”

Selected 13th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Dick spent part of the 2023–24 season with Raptors 905 in the G League, struggling early but bouncing back with a 21-point game against the Maine Celtics.

In the 2024–25 NBA season, Dick started 54 games for Toronto, averaging 14.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. He scored a career-high 32 points against the Milwaukee Bucks on November 12, 2024.

Dick’s rookie and sophomore seasons have shown steady scoring development, despite a right knee injury that ended his 2024–25 campaign on April 4, 2025. His career totals now include 1,287 points, 325 rebounds, 155 assists, and 82 steals.

Dick’s shooting ability remains a highlight, though Beverley suggested he is not yet at the level of more established perimeter scorers like Luke Kennard.
