Jayson Tatum is working on himself to get back on the court soon.

After months of rehabilitation, the Boston Celtics superstar returned to the floor in a limited workout.

Tatum has been steadily in the rehab after the torn Achilles tendon that he suffered in the last postseason. He was seen having a shootaround and a couple of jogs during a video posted to the YouTube channel on Saturday night.

The six-time all-star also said he completed his first on-court workout, spending 15 minutes to be more comfortable again, per an exclusive interview by USA Today’s Sports Seriously.

“Yesterday was the first time I went on the court and did a basketball workout,” said Tatum via USA Today Sports. “I was on the court for like 15 minutes. The goal is just getting more comfortable. I’ve been jogging, and the next is sprinting, and then it’ll be changing directions. So, just gradually getting my workouts to look how they used to when I was healthy.”

Despite his remaining uncertain recovery timeline, the 27-year-old forward did not rule out his appearance for the 2025-2026 season.

Boston Celtics president Brad Stevens was also into Tatum’s recovery, as he emphasized not to rush the rehabilitation process to be back fully on the court.

“I’ve said this from Day 1, and I’ll continue to say it: no timelines on Jayson from my perspective,” Stevens said, per Brian Robb of MassLive.com. “My No. 1 goal, my No. 2 goal, three goal, four goal is Jayson Tatum fully healthy, full recovery. And he’s well on his way. He has been incredibly diligent.”

Tatum finished the 2024-2025 season with an outstanding performance, tallying 26.8 points, 8.7 boards, and six assists per game. He shot 45.2% from the field while finishing fourth in MVP voting.
