The Philadelphia 76ers have requested waivers on forward Igor Miličić Jr., a team spokesman confirmed Saturday, per Kyle Neubeck. Miličić Jr. signed with Philadelphia on July 8 after going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Miličić Jr., 23, played four seasons of college basketball at Virginia, Charlotte, and Tennessee, averaging 8.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game over his career. The forward’s versatility at the 6-foot-10 frame allowed him to contribute in multiple roles on both ends of the floor.
The 76ers’ roster features multiple injured stars, including Joel Embiid, Paul George, Tyrese Maxey, and Kyle Lowry, highlighting a focus on backcourt and frontcourt depth heading into training camp.
Philadelphia’s 2025 draft additions, including first-round pick VJ Edgecombe and second-round selection Johni Broome, add further competition for minutes at the forward positions. Miličić Jr.’s departure clears room for these young players to integrate into Nick Nurse’s rotation.
The forward appeared in 119 college games, starting 89, and recorded career averages of 3.1 field goals on 6.4 attempts per game, with a 34.5% three-point percentage and 77.2% free-throw accuracy. His experience in multiple programs provided him with exposure to different offensive and defensive schemes.
