The Indiana Pacers are set to sign veteran guard Delon Wright for training camp, Tony East of The Athletic reported. Wright’s addition comes after the team decided not to finalize a deal with Monte Morris due to a calf injury.

General Manager Chad Buchanan confirmed Morris’ absence, leaving the Pacers to seek backcourt depth ahead of the 2025–26 season.

Wright, 33, brings experience from ten NBA seasons and multiple franchises, including Toronto, Memphis, Dallas, Detroit, Sacramento, Atlanta, Washington, Miami, Milwaukee, and New York.

Wright most recently appeared with the Knicks in 2025 after a midseason trade from Milwaukee, where he had helped the Bucks capture the 2024 NBA Cup. Over his career, he has averaged 6.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game across 548 regular-season contests.

The Pacers’ backcourt has been heavily impacted by Tyrese Haliburton’s season-ending Achilles injury. Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell will carry significant responsibilities, with rookies Kam Jones and Taelon Peter expected to contribute alongside Wright.

Wright is known for his defensive versatility, playmaking ability, and basketball IQ. His presence gives Indiana a steady option for point and wing guard rotations while allowing younger players to gain experience without being overexposed.

Indiana also faces challenges in scoring after Myles Turner’s move to Milwaukee. The team will rely heavily on Bennedict Mathurin and Pascal Siakam, making Wright’s ability to stabilize the backcourt even more valuable.
