The Memphis Grizzlies have officially added forward Braxton Key to their offseason roster, the team confirmed in a press release.
With a vacant spot among the 21-man offseason roster, no other moves were necessary to accommodate Key.
Standing 6’8″, Key brings experience from multiple NBA stops, including the Sixers, Pistons, Nuggets, and Warriors.
During the 2024/25 season, he spent the majority of his time in the G League, appearing in 49 games split between the San Diego Clippers and Santa Cruz Warriors.
Across those contests, he averaged 16.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.7 steals, and 1.1 blocks in 31.7 minutes per game, showcasing his all-around impact.
Key’s strong G League performances earned him a late-season call-up to Golden State, where he initially signed a two-way contract in March before being upgraded to a standard NBA deal on the season’s final day.
Despite the promotion, he only logged 11 total minutes across three garbage-time appearances.
Memphis has not detailed the terms of Key’s deal, but it is expected to be a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract.
Such a deal could later convert to a two-way contract or allow Key to earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if waived and then spending at least 60 days with the Grizzlies’ G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle.
For that to occur, Memphis would need to secure Key’s returning rights from the Clippers’ affiliate.
If Key is indeed on an Exhibit 10 deal, he joins Lawson Lovering and Tyler Burton as the three Exhibit 10 signees on Memphis’ roster.
The Grizzlies also carry 15 players on guaranteed contracts and three on two-way deals, balancing depth with developmental flexibility.
