Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James added another historic milestone to his storied career last season by becoming the first player in NBA history to score a combined 50,000 points across the regular season and playoffs.
While visiting China, he reflected on the effort behind achieving such a remarkable feat during an interview with CBV Game, as reported by Lakers Nation (YouTube link).
“I don’t think it’s about the record, I just think it’s a microcosm of my career, of my hard work and dedication to my craft, and my love for the game,” James explained.
“I put so many hours into trying to be the greatest of what I can become and the best I can become. That moment is there is an indication of that, of hard work paying off. It’s always pretty cool when you can have those moments that show that the work does pay off.”
James has played 22 seasons for the Cavaliers, Lakers, and Heat. He has averaged 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.4 assists in 1,562 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 21 All-Star games. He has won the Rookie of the Year award, 4 MVP awards, 4 Finals MVP awards, and 4 NBA championships.
ICYMI: The Lakers provided a huge show of support for Luka Doncic as he represented Slovenia at EuroBasket. That + more notes from Los Angeles. https://t.co/Hcxmu01CF2
