The Boston Celtics have wrapped up much of their anticipated summer business, making key moves to balance the roster and manage salaries.

This included trading Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday in cost-saving transactions, as well as sending Georges Niang to Utah for similar financial considerations.

However, one notable question mark remains: Anfernee Simons, acquired from Portland in the Holiday trade. According to Brian Robb of Mass Live, Simons’ situation isn’t expected to be resolved immediately.

Robb notes that Simons offers valuable on-court production, capable of shouldering some scoring responsibilities while Jayson Tatum is sidelined for the season.

At the same time, he represents the Celtics’ primary trade asset outside of their core trio of Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Payton Pritchard.

Because of this dual value – as both a contributor and a tradable asset – the Celtics are unlikely to rush a decision regarding Simons.

Any potential trade involving him would probably be carefully planned to align with the team’s long-term goals, helping Boston maintain its path toward championship contention once Tatum returns from his Achilles injury.
