Cedi Osman suffered an ankle injury during Turkey’s quarterfinal clash with Poland and, since that setback, has been unable to fully participate in team training sessions.
His absence has raised questions about his availability for the crucial stages of the competition.
At this morning’s shootaround, Osman managed to take part in some of the exercises, but he did not complete the entire session.
His status for tonight’s highly anticipated semifinal against Greece remains uncertain. The decision regarding his participation will likely be made shortly before tip-off.
In situations like this, everything comes down to what is often referred to as a gametime decision.
Given the magnitude of the semifinal, where a place in the EuroBasket 2025 final is on the line, Turkey’s coaching staff will assess Osman carefully before determining whether he can contribute on the court.
As the stakes are extremely high, no possibility is being dismissed at this stage.
Complicating matters further, FIBA’s tournament regulations do not allow roster changes due to injuries once the competition has started.
This means that, at least on paper, Osman will remain an active member of the Turkish squad regardless of his fitness status.
Even if he cannot play, his presence on the bench could still be valuable for morale and team chemistry.
