Ben Simmons’ uncertain NBA future took another turn after his longtime representative officially stepped away. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Bernie Lee has informed the NBPA that he is no longer listed as Simmons’ agent.

The move comes as Simmons contemplates whether he wants to continue his NBA career. Stefan Bondy of the New York Post reported earlier this week that Simmons has drawn interest from the New York Knicks and another team, but he has sent signals that he is unsure if he wants to keep playing.

The Knicks are weighing Simmons for their final roster spot, evaluating him as a defensive-minded backup guard and playmaker.
New York is also considering Landry Shamet, whose shooting would provide a different skill set, according to multiple reports.

Simmons, 29, has experienced a rapid fall from his early-career peak. The 2016 No. 1 pick won Rookie of the Year in 2018, earned three straight All-Star nods, and twice made All-Defensive First Team with the Philadelphia 76ers.

His production has since declined due to injuries and diminished offensive impact. Last season, he split time with the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 5.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 50 games.

Simmons played sparingly in the postseason, logging just eight minutes per game for the Clippers in their brief playoff run. His career averages stand at 13.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.2 assists across 383 games, numbers that highlight the talent that once made him a franchise cornerstone.

Despite his struggles, teams remain intrigued by his size, defensive versatility, and ability to create for teammates. Still, sources told the Post that Simmons, who has earned over $200 million in career salary, is weighing whether he wants to endure the grind of another NBA season.
