Boston Celtics guard Derrick White named Memphis as his least favorite NBA stop, citing hotel accommodations as the main reason.

Speaking on his White Noise podcast, White was asked which city he least enjoys visiting during the season. “Memphis probably,” he said, via HoopsHype. “I mean, the hotel is probably the worst hotel in the NBA. The food there is good though. I don’t know if it’s the healthiest for you, but the food actually is really good. But yeah, Memphis it’s a tough hotel to be in especially like the Four Seasons and you go like to the Westin, you’re like this is it’s not the same.”

White’s comments drew attention given his growing profile in Boston, where he has been a key contributor on both ends of the floor. He averaged 16.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds during the 2024-25 regular season, starting all 76 games.

In the 2025 playoffs, the 30-year-old elevated his play even further, posting 18.8 points per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range.

White has played in nearly 500 career regular-season games with the San Antonio Spurs and Celtics since entering the league in 2017. Known for his defense, playmaking, and improved perimeter shooting, he has developed into one of the NBA’s most reliable two-way guards.

His remarks about Memphis come at a time when player travel and accommodations have become frequent talking points. Several veterans have previously voiced frustrations about certain stops on the league calendar, often citing hotel quality or logistical challenges.
