The home of the Philadelphia 76ers and Flyers has officially been renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena, effective September 1.
Comcast Spectacor and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment announced the change in May, following the expiration of the previous Wells Fargo naming rights deal.
The new agreement will remain in place through the 2030–31 season, marking the latest chapter in the venue’s history, which opened in 1996 as the CoreStates Center.
Over the years, the arena has also been known as the First Union Center, Wachovia Center, and Wells Fargo Center, hosting countless memorable NBA and NHL moments.
The renaming coincides with plans for a new $1.3 billion arena at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, with the current venue scheduled for demolition after the 2030–31 season.
Xfinity Mobile Arena will feature a major WiFi upgrade, promising speeds up to 10 times faster, enhancing the in-arena experience for fans attending games and events.
