The Orlando Magic have added backcourt and wing depth ahead of training camp, signing Reece Beekman and Justin Minaya to Exhibit 10 contracts, according to Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel.
Beekman split his rookie season between the Brooklyn Nets and Golden State Warriors, appearing in 36 games overall. The 23-year-old point guard averaged 2.6 points, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 rebounds in 13 minutes per contest while shooting 32.7 percent from the field.
Minaya joins the Magic after spending the past three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers. The 26-year-old forward appeared in 57 career games, posting averages of 1.7 points and 1.4 rebounds in 10 minutes per outing.
Exhibit 10 contracts allow players to join a team for training camp with the option of being converted to a two-way deal. They also include bonuses if the player is waived and then joins the team’s G League affiliate.
For Orlando, the signings add competition to the roster while strengthening the pipeline for the Osceola Magic. Both players will have the opportunity to earn roles during camp or continue their development in the G League.
