The New York Knicks have added Ermal Kuqo to their front office, hiring him as Senior Director of Minor League Operations.
NBA insider Michael Scotto first reported the move, noting that Kuqo spent the past nine years with the Los Angeles Clippers, most recently serving as Director of International Pro Scouting.
Kuqo’s appointment marks another organizational change for New York, which enters the 2025–26 season with new head coach Mike Brown and a reshaped roster built around Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Before his transition to scouting and management, Kuqo enjoyed a 14-year playing career in Europe. He suited up for clubs including Fenerbahce, KK Split, Pamesa Valencia, Galatasaray, and Anadolu Efes, where he spent eight seasons.
During his time in Turkey, Kuqo won two Turkish League championships, two Turkish Cups, and two President’s Cups, establishing himself as one of the most reliable frontcourt players in the region.
After retiring in 2016, Kuqo joined the Clippers as a scouting consultant. He was promoted to full-time international scout in 2018 and elevated to Director of International Pro Scouting the following year.
Alongside his NBA work, Kuqo became a visible presence in EuroLeague media. He contributed to the Experts Round Table series, served as an ambassador during the 2017 Final Four in Istanbul, and hosted a widely viewed promotional documentary highlighting Turkish basketball culture.
