Hapoel Tel Aviv has secured Bulgarian forward Borislav Mladenov on a contract through the 2027–28 season, the club announced Sunday. The 25-year-old will join the roster for preseason training and undergo full evaluation before the EuroLeague debut campaign begins.
Mladenov arrives after a standout season in Bulgaria, where he led the domestic league in scoring with 21.2 points per game. He split the year between Minyor Pernikin, coached by his father Georgi Mladenov, and Levski Sofia following his father’s departure.
The 2.02-meter forward showed all-around production last season, ranking top ten in multiple categories. He averaged 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.4 blocks per contest, underlining his versatility on both ends of the floor.
Mladenov’s path to Hapoel has included stops across Europe. After early years with BUBA and Levski, he joined the Crabs Rimini youth system in Italy in 2014. He made his senior debut in 2017 but missed nearly two full seasons after suffering an ACL injury.
In 2019, he returned to Levski to rebuild his career before rejoining Rimini in 2020. That stint was highlighted by a promotion from Serie B, leading to further opportunities in Italy with Virtus Imola and Latina Basket.
Last season’s return to Bulgaria marked his best year yet, with career-high numbers and recognition as one of the league’s top two-way players. His performance drew attention from Hapoel Tel Aviv, who will count on his scoring and defensive presence as they enter the EuroLeague for the first time.
Mladenov has also worn the Bulgarian national team jersey at both youth and senior levels.
