Slovenia has officially locked in its 12-man roster for FIBA EuroBasket 2025, and as expected, all eyes will be on one of the tournament’s brightest stars – Luka Doncic.

Head coach Aleksander Sekulic finalized his squad immediately following the team’s heavy 34-point defeat to Serbia in Belgrade, which marked the end of their preparation run for the continental championship.

The confirmed list includes Luka Doncic, Gregor Hrovat, Robert Jurkovic, Martin Krampelj, Edo Muric, Aleksej Nikolic, Alen Omic, Mark Padjen, Klemen Prepelic, Rok Radovic, Leon Stergar, and Luka Scuka.

For the 2017 EuroBasket champions, the road to this summer’s highly anticipated event has been anything but smooth. Slovenia managed to win only a single friendly out of six, raising questions about their form.

They opened their campaign with back-to-back losses against Germany, later falling to Lithuania, Latvia, and ultimately Serbia. Their lone victory came against Great Britain, offering just a brief glimpse of optimism in an otherwise difficult summer.

Still, hope remains firmly tied to Doncic, one of the greatest talents in world basketball and the leader who has carried Slovenia to unprecedented international success in the past.

Known as “The Dragons,” the team will now shift focus to the Group Phase in Katowice, where they are placed in Group D alongside Poland, France, Israel, Belgium, and Iceland.

Their journey begins with a high-stakes clash against Poland on August 28 at 20:30 CET – a matchup that instantly brings back memories of the EuroBasket 2022 semi-final, where Poland stunned Slovenia in one of the biggest upsets of the tournament.

This time, Doncic and company will be eager to set the record straight.
