Jared McCain is making his return soon.
The Philadelphia 76ers drafted Duke University Blue Devils guard Jared McCain with the 16th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft, as he showed a stellar performance before suffering a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee.
The 6-foot-3 guard finished the season with 23 games, averaging 15.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game, shooting 38.3 percent from deep in his debut stint.
McCain was also running for Rookie of the Year, as he had produced huge numbers in his previous games before the unfortunate encounter. He had 34 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers, 29 against the Orlando Magic, and back-to-back 20-plus points against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Miami Heat.
In 2024, Knicks guard Josh Hart compared McCain to Jalen Brunson, via Roomates Show. “I can see that in many more ways than just one, both steady point guards, both longer hair, both love TikTok.”
The 21-year-old sharpshooter has told his vlogs that his NBA playstyle is similar to Brunson’s, as they have both mid-range trademarks, even during his high school years at Centennial High School.
Despite missing out on the Summer League, he officially moved to Philadelphia as he gets in shape to compete, showing recovery workouts for this upcoming season, according to his recent uploads.
Last year, McCain was in his game in the Summer League, averaging 11.9 points and 4.9 boards per game.
Many expectations from the former blue devil when he make his comeback this 2025 to 2026 season after a major injury, together with his fellow teammates Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and Joel Embiid.
