Collin Murray-Boyles’ personal trainer, Khadijah Sessions, is confident that the Toronto Raptors’ recent No. 9 draft pick has the potential to develop into a defender reminiscent of Draymond Green, but with enhanced offensive capabilities.
Speaking to Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports, Sessions emphasized that Murray-Boyles embodies many of the qualities that made Green such a valuable player, while also possessing skills that could take his game to an even higher level.
“He is more of the modern-day Draymond [Green],” Sessions said. “He is a defender, he can defend all positions, he can pass, he can set his teammates up… He’s going to be a better Draymond. He’s going to shoot better than him. He’s going to be able to score better than him.”
The personal coach believes that with time and development, Murray-Boyles will not only match but exceed the versatility and impact Green has had on the defensive end, while also becoming a more consistent offensive threat.
She also noted the benefit of learning behind key Raptors players Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram, which could help unlock the full extent of his potential.
“But it’s going to be over time and I think him playing behind Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram is going to bring a different monster out of him,” she added.
