Trade rumors surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo have quieted recently, but the two-time MVP has yet to decide if he’ll stay with the Bucks, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on “Get Up.” Sources say nothing is finalized about his future in Milwaukee.
Speculation about Giannis possibly leaving increased after the Bucks’ early playoff exit and star guard Damian Lillard’s Achilles injury, which will keep him out next season.
In response, Bucks GM Jon Horst reshaped the roster this summer, waiving Lillard’s remaining $112.6 million contract and using the cap space to sign center Myles Turner from the Pacers.
Horst also added free agents Gary Harris, Jericho Sims, and Cole Anthony, while re-signing key players like Bobby Portis and Gary Trent Jr.
Turner’s signing was seen as a move to assure Giannis the Bucks remain contenders.
Despite fewer trade talks recently, Charania said serious discussions are ongoing, with Giannis repeatedly questioning if this roster can bring him a second championship. Several teams are reportedly ready to make offers if he chooses to leave.
