Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland provided a positive update on his recovery from offseason toe surgery, telling cleveland.com‘s Chris Fedor, “I feel great. The recovery process is going well.”
The 25-year-old made the comments during a public appearance for his foundation, where he hosted a charity baseball event in Cleveland.
Garland underwent surgery on June 9 to repair an injury to his left big toe that hampered him during the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
The procedure came after Cleveland’s second-round exit, where the Cavaliers were eliminated in five games by the Indiana Pacers for the second straight season.
Despite the early playoff exit, Garland had a strong regular season, averaging 20.6 points and 6.7 assists while shooting 47.2% from the field and 40.1% from three across 75 games.
His efforts helped guide Cleveland to a 64–18 record, the best in the Eastern Conference and second-best in franchise history.
Garland also earned his second All-Star selection in January and delivered several clutch performances.
However, injuries limited his impact in the postseason, and he was noticeably less effective compared to earlier in the year.
Recovery from the June procedure was initially projected to take four to five months, putting Garland on track to return in time for training camp this fall.
