Javon Freeman-Liberty is heading to Australia, signing a one-year deal with the Brisbane Bullets of the NBL, per ESPN’s Olgun Uluc.
The 25-year-old guard brings NBA and G League experience to the team, having appeared in 22 games for the Toronto Raptors during the 2023/24 season, where he averaged 7.0 points and 3.2 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game.
Freeman-Liberty also had an impressive run in the G League with the Windy City Bulls, posting averages of 19.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, along with 35.6% shooting from deep on nearly eight attempts per night.
His strong Summer League performance with the Chicago Bulls – 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists over five games – helped solidify his status as a rising talent.
The Brisbane Bullets, who finished 8th out of 10 teams last season, are looking to climb the standings with Freeman-Liberty’s help.
“To add a talent of Javon’s caliber to our roster at this stage is really exciting,” said head coach Stu Lash via the NBL.
“He’s a hungry player who’s ready to take the next step in his development as a professional. His toughness, ferocity, and willingness to compete make him a natural fit for what we value at the Brisbane Bullets.”
