The Miami Heat are exploring trade options for veteran guard Terry Rozier ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season, according to a report by Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.

League sources told the Herald that the Heat remain open to moving Rozier, who is entering the final year of his contract.

Miami and the Washington Wizards reportedly held discussions earlier in the offseason centered on a potential deal involving Rozier.

The 31-year-old guard is scheduled to earn $24 million in the final year of his four-year, $96 million contract signed during his time in Charlotte.

Rozier averaged 10.6 points, 2.6 assists, and 3.7 rebounds in 64 games with the Heat during the 2024-25 season, while shooting 39.1 percent from the field and 29.5 percent from three-point range.

He joined Miami via trade from the Hornets midway through the 2023-24 season and averaged 16.4 points in his initial 31 games with the team.

While Rozier had a reduced role this past year, his scoring ability and playoff experience could attract interest from teams seeking backcourt depth.

Over his 10-year NBA career, Rozier has averaged 13.9 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game.

He is also a seasoned postseason contributor, best remembered for starting 19 playoff games for the Celtics in 2018, when he averaged 16.5 points and 5.7 assists per contest.

In January, Rozier was named in an NBA betting investigation related to a 2023 game during his Hornets tenure.

Although the league permitted him to continue playing, the incident placed additional scrutiny on his role and future value around the league.

Rozier has not been charged with any crimes and was not accused of wrongdoing, but his name surfaced in connection to an unusual betting pattern.
