Jrue Holiday’s long-term future with the Portland Trail Blazers is anything but settled. Still, one potential scenario intrigues him: teaming up with Damian Lillard.
While Lillard re-signed with Portland after being waived by Milwaukee, he’ll spend this upcoming season rehabbing a torn Achilles tendon. A return next year is possible, and if Holiday is still on the roster, that reunion could make for a fascinating dynamic.
Given that both guards are former All-Stars and capable of playing on or off the ball, the pairing isn’t out of the question.
The two-time champ hasn’t shied away from the idea.
While the focus remains on helping Portland grow and compete in the short term, Holiday remains open-minded about what the future holds – including potentially sharing the court with Lillard in a Trail Blazers uniform.
Holiday has spent 16 seasons in the NBA across four teams, including stints with the Pelicans and 76ers. Over 1,037 regular-season games, he’s averaged 15.8 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.2 rebounds.
He’s a two-time All-Star and a two-time NBA champion.
