NBA stars took to Twitter to show support for New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday after he got snubbed from making either All-Defensive team.

“When it’s nearly unanimous amongst your peers that you are the best defensive guard in the league and you don’t make either All-Defense team…that’s a snub,” Holiday’s teammate JJ Redick tweeted.

“Beyond a snub,” Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard tweeted in response to Redick.

The teams were voted on by the media, but Redick thinks that players’ opinions should also carry some weight when voting for these teams.

He was asked if he thinks the players should pick every award or if he was okay with the media having votes.

“I’m not anti-media at all and I know that a lot of media members who have votes for awards take it very seriously. But sometimes the eye test and listening to NBA players talk about their peers should carry some weight,” Redick responded.

Holiday has made an All-Defensive team twice in his NBA career and averaged 1.6 steals per game this season.
