According to Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian, the Memphis Grizzlies have announced the addition of Darnell Lazare to their coaching staff.

Lazare is no stranger to the organization, having previously served as a player development coach for the Grizzlies back in 2018.

Since then, he took on a similar position with the New Orleans Pelicans, where he gained valuable experience working closely with their rookie big man, Yves Missi, during the past season.

As reported by Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Lazare is expected to focus primarily on Memphis’s frontcourt players, providing specialized coaching and development to the team’s big man rotation.

His previous work with Pelicans’ young frontcourt talent positions him well to help the Grizzlies nurture their own big men and strengthen that area of the roster.

With Lazare’s return to Memphis, the Grizzlies are reinforcing their commitment to player development and building a strong, competitive frontcourt moving forward.
