The Golden State Warriors are adding a familiar name to their bench, hiring Nikola Milojevic—son of the late assistant coach Dejan Milojevic—to the organization’s coaching staff.

Nikola joins the Warriors after a season with Mega Basket (Mega Superbet) in Serbia, where he worked in player development. The news was first announced by his agent Misko Raznatovic via X.

This move marks an emotional full-circle moment for Golden State. Dejan Milojevic, who passed away in January 2024 at age 46 following a heart attack, served as a key assistant under Steve Kerr and played a pivotal role in the Warriors’ 2022 NBA championship run.

During his tenure, Dejan helped develop Golden State’s frontcourt, most notably Kevon Looney, who credited Milojevic for enhancing his rebounding and interior play during the title season.

The younger Milojevic is expected to work in a developmental role, focusing on younger players and player skill growth—similar to his responsibilities in Serbia.
