Shake Milton is officially making the leap to Europe after signing a two-year contract with EuroLeague contender Partizan Belgrade, the Serbian club announced Thursday night.

The 28-year-old guard joins after spending seven seasons in the NBA, most recently with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Milton was waived by the Lakers earlier this week, a move driven by salary cap constraints as the franchise made room to sign veteran Marcus Smart.

In 30 games for Los Angeles last season, Milton averaged 3.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in limited minutes off the bench.

Prior to that, he appeared in 27 games for the Brooklyn Nets, posting 7.4 points and 2.3 assists per contest and delivering a standout double-double performance against San Antonio.

Across his NBA career, the former SMU standout logged 359 regular season appearances, averaging 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

He also featured in 40 playoff games and notched three 30-point outings in his career, including a 39-point game for the 76ers in 2020 against the Clippers.

Milton now joins a Partizan backcourt that already features fellow SMU alum Sterling Brown.

This will be Milton’s first EuroLeague experience, though he brings with him experience from six different NBA franchises as well as G-League stints with the Delaware Blue Coats.

Partizan is looking to rebound from a playoff miss last season and has been aggressive in reshaping its roster ahead of the 2025–26 EuroLeague campaign.
