The Phoenix Suns have reportedly joined the growing list of NBA teams expressing interest in acquiring small forward Jonathan Kuminga, according to Jake Fischer.

Sources indicate that Phoenix has recently initiated preliminary discussions around the possibility of a sign-and-trade deal involving Golden State’s swingman.

While orchestrating such a transaction would be logistically and financially complicated – especially given the team’s current cap constraints – it’s clear the Suns are seriously intrigued by Kuminga’s potential.

Their interest comes on the heels of a major roster move: the buyout of Bradley Beal’s contract earlier this week.

That buyout now allows the Suns to take advantage of the waive-and-stretch provision, easing some of their financial burden tied to Beal’s sizable salary.

With that move freeing up future flexibility, Phoenix has taken active steps to reach out to both Kuminga’s camp and the Golden State Warriors, signaling a strong desire to explore a path toward landing the athletic forward.

Although still in the early stages, the Suns’ outreach reflects how highly they regard the Warriors’ forward’s skill set, particularly his athleticism and two-way upside, which they believe could be a valuable addition to their retooled roster.
