Second-year Miami Heat guard Pelle Larsson departed Las Vegas following Monday’s Summer League game to join the Swedish national team in preparation for next month’s EuroBasket tournament, according to Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.
Larsson emerged as one of Miami’s most productive players during the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 18.0 points and 3.7 assists per contest while receiving valuable experience as a primary ball-handler.
Heat Summer League coach Eric Glass shared insights on Larsson’s development, saying, “We were trying to grow his game. We want him to still be the defensive stopper and role player on offense, but we gave him the ball and it gave him a much higher usage rate, obviously.
“It was a good experience for him. There were games when he was really good, games that there’s stuff on film now that we can teach him on things to do. But you can’t duplicate these kinds of reps in games. So we were really happy for that.”
In the 2024-25 season, the Swedish guard averaged 4.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, with a 43.8% field goal percentage.
