Rich Paul addressed growing speculation surrounding LeBron James’ future, emphasizing that neither he nor his client has requested a trade from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Speaking on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Paul reiterated that James remains focused on enjoying the offseason rather than entertaining the noise.

“The way we’ve approached it, I just told LeBron, ‘Enjoy your summer,’” Paul said, via HoopsHype. He described James as an “unbelievable ambassador” for the league who continues to perform at an elite level despite approaching his 41st birthday.

Paul dismissed reports suggesting any strategy or tension between James and the Lakers’ front office. “It wasn’t anything in terms of strategy or anything like that. It was just conversation,” he clarified, noting that much of the speculation comes from outside observers.

On ESPN earlier this week, Dave McMenamin reported that Paul firmly denied any trade request or discussion with the team about moving James elsewhere. According to McMenamin, Paul also shot down claims that James demanded a contract extension, asserting his client never made such a request.

James exercised his $52.6 million player option this summer, which keeps him under contract with Los Angeles through the upcoming season. Despite some frustration expressed publicly and on social media, Paul urged people to focus on James’ continued excellence and leadership.

“The guy’s 40 years old and playing like he’s 24,” Paul said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. He also acknowledged the challenge of staying consistent at the NBA level and praised James’ professionalism and impact across two decades in the league.

While McMenamin noted that at least four teams reached out to gauge interest in acquiring James, Paul emphasized no serious discussions have taken place. He added that people often misinterpret casual conversations as formal negotiations.

For now, Paul insists that James is simply enjoying the summer and letting others speculate. “Sometimes you just have to let the noise be the noise,” he said.
