According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, guard Cole Anthony has reached a contract buyout agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies.
This move paves the way for Anthony to join the Milwaukee Bucks on a one-year deal, which he is expected to sign once he clears waivers.
Anthony was recently acquired by Memphis in the multi-team trade that sent Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic.
However, his stint with the Grizzlies appears to have been a brief one, as the buyout clears his contract off their books.
During his five-season tenure with the Magic, Anthony posted solid numbers, averaging 12.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game, contributing as both a starter and a key rotation player.
By finalizing the buyout, the Grizzlies now open up additional salary cap flexibility – specifically aimed at renegotiating and extending the contract of cornerstone forward Jaren Jackson Jr., a move that underscores Memphis’s long-term investment in their core.
