The 39-year-old future Hall of Famer has reportedly declined overtures from the Charlotte Hornets, signaling a strong preference to remain on the West Coast, ideally near his home in Los Angeles.
Paul is entering what he has indicated will be his final season in the NBA, and he is actively seeking a situation where he can continue to start and play a meaningful role on a contending team.
His desire for a prominent role likely factors heavily into his decision-making process as he weighs offers.
The Clippers, in particular, find themselves well-positioned to make a move.
They not only have the financial flexibility under the salary cap but also the available roster space to potentially accommodate both Paul and All-Star guard Bradley Beal, should they choose to go in that direction.
