The Memphis Grizzlies have signed rookie guard Javon Small to a two-way contract, securing the rights to the No. 48 overall pick from the 2025 NBA Draft. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported the news Thursday.

Small, 22, enters the NBA after an impressive collegiate career that included stops at East Carolina, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia. He capped his senior season averaging 18.6 points, 5.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game for the Mountaineers.

Before transferring to West Virginia, Small played one year at Oklahoma State, where he averaged 15.1 points and earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. At East Carolina, he had already showcased his playmaking ability, posting 15.8 points and 5.6 assists per game as a sophomore.

The Indiana native’s growth as a scorer and facilitator throughout his college career helped him climb into the second round of the draft and earn an invitation to the 2025 NBA Draft Combine.

With the two-way deal, Small will split time between the Grizzlies and their G League affiliate, allowing him to develop further while contributing to the main roster as needed.
