After earning the NBA’s Most Improved Player award for the 2024–25 season, the Atlanta Hawks guard Dyson Daniels isn’t resting on his accomplishments.
Speaking with Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, the rising star expressed both gratitude and hunger – acknowledging how far he’s come, but also emphasizing that he sees greater milestones on the horizon.
“I know there’s still a lot more to unlock in my game,” the player said, reflecting on his rapid growth. “This is just the beginning – I want to be an All-Star, and I want to win a championship. Those are the goals I’m chasing now.”
Daniels’ evolution this season was not only evident on offense but especially on the defensive end, where he finished as the runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year.
The Hawks’ rising star attributes a key part of his development to teammate Trae Young, whose offensive firepower created space for Daniels to thrive in his role.
“Trae really made things easier for me,” Daniels explained. “Our styles mesh well – he takes charge on offense, and I’m there on defense to support him. It’s a balance that works.”
After a breakout season recognized by the league, Atlanta’s young guard is set to play a key role in the team’s future.
But he’s not satisfied with awards – he aims to become a top player and win a championship.
