Former NBA player Ben McLemore has been sentenced to 100 months in prison after being convicted of raping a 21-year-old woman in 2021, during his time with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The sentence was handed down a week after a Clackamas County jury found him guilty of rape and sexual assault.

The incident occurred at a party in October 2021 at the home of fellow Blazer Robert Covington. McLemore, now 32, was arrested in April 2024 on first-degree rape charges.

He denied the allegations throughout the case, insisting the encounter was consensual.

“I am not sexually abusive,” he stated. “I’ve never pursued someone I knew wasn’t interested.”

The jury, however, found otherwise and convicted him.

A standout at the University of Kansas and the 7th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, McLemore played for the Kings, Grizzlies, Rockets, Lakers, and Blazers.

He also played overseas, most recently in Turkey. He is now serving his sentence behind bars.
