The Bucks have officially waived Damian Lillard and Vasilije Micic as part of their effort to clear enough cap space to sign center Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million contract.
Lillard’s remaining $112.6 million salary will be stretched over five seasons instead of two, giving Milwaukee immediate cap relief.
The nine-time All-Star is recovering from a torn Achilles suffered during the playoffs and is expected to miss most or all of the 2025–26 season.
While several teams have expressed interest, Lillard is reportedly in no hurry to make a decision about his future.
Micic, acquired from Charlotte in a recent trade, agreed to a buyout with Milwaukee, giving up $6.1 million of his $8.1 million salary.
The Bucks will stretch his remaining $2 million over three seasons, creating $667K annual cap hits.
After a limited NBA stint – averaging 6.8 points and 3.9 assists over 101 games – Micic is expected to return to Europe, where multiple EuroLeague teams have shown interest.
Both players were placed on waivers Sunday evening and are expected to clear by Wednesday.
