The Washington Wizards are reportedly open to working on a sign-and-trade for veteran guard Malcolm Brogdon, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

On his Substack, Stein wrote that “league sources say that the Wizards are open to sign-and-trade discussions to facilitate Malcolm Brogdon’s exit from Washington” and noted that several teams have already expressed interest in the 32-year-old.

Brogdon, who became an unrestricted free agent after his two-year, $45 million deal expired, is drawing attention from contenders across the league. According to Stein, the list of suitors includes the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, and Milwaukee Bucks.

During the 2024–25 season with Washington, Brogdon averaged 12.7 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per game while shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three. He appeared in 24 games and started 13 times.

Over his nine-year NBA career, Brogdon has proven to be a reliable scorer and playmaker, averaging 15.3 points and 4.7 assists per game with career shooting splits of 46.3 percent from the field, 38.8 percent from three-point range, and 87.4 percent from the line.

The Wizards, who are in the middle of a rebuild, could leverage Brogdon’s value to acquire assets while allowing the former Rookie of the Year to join a playoff-caliber roster.
