The Detroit Pistons have signed second-round pick Chaz Lanier to a four-year, $8.79 million contract, league sources told HoopsHype. NBA insider Michael Scotto reported the agreement, which includes two fully guaranteed years worth $3.52 million.

The deal features a trigger date on the third year and a team option for the fourth, giving Detroit long-term flexibility while securing one of the most efficient scorers from the 2025 draft class.

Lanier, the No. 37 overall pick, comes off a stellar season at Tennessee, where he earned the Jerry West Award as the nation’s top shooting guard. He also captured SEC Newcomer of the Year honors and was named First-Team All-SEC and Third-Team All-American.

The Nashville native began his college career at North Florida, gradually improving each season before transferring to Tennessee for his final year. At Tennessee, he averaged 18.0 points per game while shooting 39.5% from three-point range over 38 starts.

Over his five-year collegiate career, Lanier appeared in 142 games and posted career averages of 11.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. He shot over 44% from the field and 39% from three during his time at both programs.
