The Chicago Bulls have signed Australian forward Lachlan Olbrich to a two-way contract, according to a report from NBA insider Michael Scotto. The No. 55 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft will split his time between the Bulls and their G League affiliate.

Olbrich, 21, was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers before his rights were traded to Chicago on draft night. He joins Jahmir Young and Emanuel Miller as the Bulls’ current two-way players heading into the 2025–26 season.

The 6-foot-9 forward brings an impressive résumé from his professional stints in Australia and New Zealand. In 2023, he led the West Adelaide Bearcats to an NBL1 Central championship, earning grand final MVP honors with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists.

Later, he signed with the Illawarra Hawks in the NBL and played two seasons, showing steady development. During the 2024–25 campaign, Olbrich averaged 8.4 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting nearly 60 percent from the field, helping the Hawks win the NBL championship.

In the 2024 season with the Canterbury Rams of the New Zealand NBL, Olbrich added to his accolades. He was named league MVP, Most Outstanding Forward, and Youth Player of the Year. He capped that season by leading the Rams to a championship and earning grand final MVP honors with a dominant 29-point, 18-rebound performance.

Olbrich also played college basketball at UC Riverside during the 2022–23 season, where he averaged 11.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game before turning professional.
