Free agent forward Guerschon Yabusele has agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract with the New York Knicks, including a player option for the second year, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Yabusele, 29, comes off a solid season with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he averaged 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He shot 50.1% from the field and 38.0% from beyond the arc during 70 appearances, starting in 43 of those games.

Philadelphia struggled throughout the 2024-25 season, finishing with a 24–58 record and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2020. Despite this, Yabusele’s consistent production made him an attractive free agent in a crowded market.

The 76ers held Early Bird Rights on Yabusele, allowing them to offer a contract beyond the salary cap. However, the team faces salary cap challenges with multiple players expected to exercise their options, limiting their ability to match offers.

San Antonio was among the teams reported to be interested in Yabusele, as they look to build around Victor Wembanyama. Yet, the Knicks secured his services, adding valuable size and shooting to their roster.

New York finished the season with a 51–31 record, securing the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

The forward expressed his desire to remain in the NBA and find the right team fit during free agency. Now with the Knicks, Yabusele is expected to contribute immediately and provide floor spacing alongside the team’s core players.
