Guerschon Yabusele has made his intentions clear: he’s not going anywhere.

Following his strongest NBA campaign to date, the 29-year-old forward told HoopsHype’s Cyro Asseo de Choch that he “100 percent” plans to remain in the league and capitalize on his free agency.

Yabusele appeared in 70 games for the Philadelphia 76ers this season, starting 43 of them and averaging 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 50.1% from the field and 38.0% from deep.

The French big man said this summer represents his first real chance to explore the NBA free agency market and expressed excitement about his potential landing spot.

“This summer is going to have a lot of movement on every team,” Yabusele said. “To be able to be part of that is just amazing.”

Philadelphia ended the 2024–25 season with a 24–58 record, finishing 13th in the Eastern Conference. It was the franchise’s first losing season and playoff miss since 2017.

Yabusele acknowledged that much of his future hinges on how teams shape their plans following the NBA Draft and early trade decisions.

He credited his renewed mindset in Philadelphia compared to his initial stint in Boston, where he struggled to find a role behind veterans like Al Horford and Marcus Morris.

“When I was in Boston, I was really just young, and I wanted just to play,” he said. “But now I try to pick the right situation for me.”

Philadelphia signed Yabusele to a one-year, $2 million deal last summer. His strong play in extended minutes could earn him offers from multiple teams looking for a versatile forward with size and shooting touch.

Yabusele emphasized that watching the playoffs this spring only strengthened his competitive drive and belief that he belongs in the NBA long term.

“My competitor side is really pushing me to work hard this summer,” he said, “try to get everything that I can to come back next season and crush it even more.”
