The Miami Heat have exercised their $2 million team option on forward Keshad Johnson, securing his spot on the roster for the 2025-26 season.
The decision, reported by Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, locks in the second year of Johnson’s two-year, $2.7 million contract.
Johnson, 24, joined the Heat on a two-way deal after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft. He signed a standard NBA contract with Miami on December 26 before being assigned to the Sioux Falls Skyforce on January 24.
Across 16 games this season with the Heat, Johnson averaged 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds in just over six minutes per game. He shot 69.2% from the field and 42.9% from beyond the arc in limited attempts.
With a partially guaranteed deal now fully locked in, Johnson will compete for a more consistent rotation role heading into training camp.
Originally from Oakland, Johnson played his final college season at Arizona after transferring from San Diego State.
