The Utah Jazz are exploring trade possibilities for forward John Collins ahead of a pivotal offseason, according to reporting from Jake Fischer and Marc Stein on Stein’s Substack.
Collins, 27, averaged 19.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and shot 39.9% from beyond the arc in 40 games during the 2024–25 campaign. Despite Utah’s last-place finish in the Western Conference at 17–65, he remained a consistent contributor on both ends.
The 6-foot-9 forward holds a $26.6 million player option for the 2025–26 season, with Thursday marking the deadline to either opt in or become an unrestricted free agent.
League sources told Stein that Utah is open to trading Collins this summer, though his market is “still forming” and could remain unclear until after the NBA Draft concludes later this week.
While Collins has been loosely linked to the Los Angeles Lakers in recent rumors, Stein recently clarified those reports were inaccurate. The Lakers are not pursuing a deal for the veteran forward.
That speculation emerged after it was reported that Utah made center Walker Kessler unavailable, prompting false assumptions about potential targets for Los Angeles.
With his player option still pending and the trade market slow to materialize, Collins’ future in Utah remains uncertain.
