The Phoenix Suns are poised to address their frontcourt needs this offseason, with a focus on acquiring a power forward and center through the NBA Draft and free agency.
Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro reported via X that the franchise is prioritizing a power forward and either a starting or backup center as it reshapes its roster for the 2025–26 campaign.
Following a 36–46 season that ended without a postseason appearance, Phoenix has already undergone significant changes. The organization fired head coach Mike Budenholzer in April and named Jordan Ott as his replacement in June. It also promoted Brian Gregory to general manager and executed a major trade that sent Kevin Durant out of Phoenix in exchange for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, and several draft picks.
One of those returns includes the Suns’ original 2025 first-round pick, which they will now use at No. 29 overall. Phoenix also holds a second-round selection at No. 52, giving the front office two opportunities to add depth in the draft.
Gambadoro’s report indicates the Suns are seeking help at the four, a position of need since Durant’s departure. While Green and Brooks strengthen the perimeter, the frontcourt rotation currently lacks size and rebounding.
With limited cap flexibility, the Suns are expected to also pursue veteran options in free agency to complement their core of Devin Booker, Green, and Brooks.
The 2025 NBA Draft begins June 25, followed by the start of free agency on July 1.
